May 7th, 8th, & 9th
In 1886 the first train rambled into the region and William Snider submitted his design- a map for the proposed town of Elloree, South Carolina located just miles from Santee, South Carolina at I-95.
This weekend you can enjoy your journey through Cotton Country at The Annual Spring Sidewalk Antiques Sale and shop for your Mother that special gift for Mother's Day, May 9th.
Five years after The Revitalization Project in September of 1999, which spent $1,200,000.000 renovating the downtown business district, Elloree is a “charmingly southern” town with brick sidewalks and two story buildings surrounded by trees where you can sit and enjoy the warm weather or you can stroll Main Street and visit South By Southwest and many other shops.
A wide variety of food aromas will fill the air. Restaurants, such as The Blue Moon Cafe, will be offering some of the finest cuisine.
The Farm Wing of the Elloree Heritage Museum opened to the public on October 5, 2002 . Now you can step back into time and interact with a 100 year old cotton gin with wooden parts inside it's original cotton gin house.
An antique auction is scheduled for Saturday evening at 6 p.m. Cleveland Street will be blocked off between Old Number 6 Highway & the railroad tracks.
Entertainment includes hot air balloon rides by "Sunny Day Balloons". South Carolina Traveler has been invited by The Friends of Greater Elloree Council President, Jim Stubbs to ride in the hot air balloon to take aerial photographs of Elloree. You can look forward to our exclusive photographs in next weeks issue.
There will also be story telling, music, dancing, and garden and floral exhibitions.
Spacious newly paved parking lots offer parking for travelers with rv’s and campers.
